PETITION: Tell Your Legislators in Rhode Island to Support School Libraries

We need you to sign the petition to support School Libraries and Librarians in Rhode Island!

Goal: 1,000 signatures

Every student in Rhode Island deserves access to a strong school library staffed by certified school librarians who help students learn, think critically, research responsibly, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

But across the state, your children are losing access to school libraries.

School library programs are being reduced, underfunded, or left without certified professionals, putting your children's success at risk.

S2078, the Rhode Island School Libraries Act, and H7417, the Save Rhode Island School Libraries Act, are critical steps toward protecting and strengthening school libraries for every student in Rhode Island.

These bills would help ensure that students have equitable access to professionally staffed libraries, modern learning resources, information literacy education, and safe spaces to explore ideas, creativity, and knowledge.
