The Washington State Legislature will be voting soon on a McCleary Education Funding Bill to change how schools are funded and how much state money will go to schools. Right now, teacher-librarians and library materials for school library programs are a key part of basic education funding at the state level. With state studies showing that student achievement is positively benefitted by a quality school library program, we need to make sure that the state commitment to funding school libraries continues and grows.
Help us continue the fight for school librarians with a $5-10 donation today.
We urge you to contact your three Washington state legislators today to urge them to include “full funding” for teacher librarians and school library programs. Please use the form to make your voice heard and to ensure all students in Washington state have access to high-impact library programs and the teacher-librarians who help them succeed.
