SEND AN EMAIL: Protect the freedom to read and stop harassment in Hunterdon County, NJ

The school district has provided no support to the librarian, and the board of education has remained silent.

A small group of extremists in Hunterdon County has targeted books and award-winning librarian Martha Hickson at North Hunterdon High School. Recently, the spouse of a board member is believed to have posted posted facebook messages targeting the librarian which has resulted in hundreds of hateful comments, vulgar email sent to the librarian’s school account, and even an article in the local newspaper labeling her a “groomer.”

Send a message to the leaders of the North Hunterdon-Voorhees School district urging them to fulfill their ethical responsibility to “support and protect school personnel in the proper performance of their duties” (Policy 0142).
