SEND AN EMAIL: Tell Your Legislators in Rhode Island to Support School Libraries

Tell your legislators why Rhode Island Schools need Libraries and Librarians.

The Rhode Island School Libraries Act and the Save Rhode Island School Libraries Act are critical steps toward protecting and strengthening school libraries for every student in Rhode Island.

These bills would help ensure that students have equitable access to professionally staffed libraries, modern learning resources, information literacy education, and safe spaces to explore ideas, creativity, and knowledge.

We need you to email your legislators in support of these critical bills.

Tell them personal stories: how did a school librarian help you or someone you know?

Tell them why the skills taught by school librarians are important for you or someone you know, including: Information Literacy, Media Literacy, Digital Citizenship (including online safety), STEAM (including computer coding), and AI.

Tell them why library materials need to be kept up to date for students and teachers.
